Stone Group and IT provider to the public sector aquired the trade and assets of Rock Group plc yesterday saying:

The acquisition will enable Stone to offer a larger range of specialist high-end Notebook products to its public sector customers.

The Washington Post (that well known reviewer of gaming laptops) carries a review of the Gateway P-172X FX.
The laptop features a 17-inch display with a native 1920-by-1200-resolution, a 2.4-GHz Core 2 Duo T8300 Intel CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, and nVidia’s GeForce Go 8800M GTS graphics board.

Toshiba Announces Cell Based Laptop

Toshiba has announced that it expects to begin selling notebooks equipped with its SpursEngine graphics chip later this year. The SpursEngine chip is based on the technology that powers the PlayStation 3 gaming console’s Cell processor.

Hitachi Announces TravelStar 320GB Laptop Hard Disk At 7,200rpm

The 2.5-inch Travelstar 7K320 offers 320GB of storage, up from the previous 200GB. Hitachi also claims that the drive can boost application performance by up to 12 per cent, and to have reduced power consumption by 22 per cent.
